Light and Dark
'Light and Dark' is a child's song that is sung whilst playing a hand-game among children in Almusia. The exact words have altered some over time, and the hand movements are constantly changing, evolving and adapting with the children that play them, but the concept of the song has remained the same.
Light and Dark tells the story of how the first thirteen Gods of Syshir were born. There is some debate concerning whether or not they should be considered 'the first'. The myth of The First details beings that are widely considered to not be a part of the thirteen. Some religious scholars and theologists would argue that Krst'kylae and Aklen'th are primordials of the aether, rather than the beings that are known today as deities.
In the story, Light and Dark combine together and from the grey resulted thirteen concepts, born in the below order:
- Elements
- Balance
- Sun
- Moon
- Nature
- Time
- Knowledge
- Wisdom
- War
- Death
- Attraction
- Unity
- Creation
three three three
ten ten ten
mess it up and we start again
the elements and balance and the sun and the moon
nature and time 'fore knowin' and thinkin'
not too long then war and death
but the goddess of love made it worth the rest
all get together then the 'shir were born
then we start from the beginning again

The little thing at the end is cute af. It's sorta neat seeing how something innocuous reflects something so monumental in a broad-strokes way. Really well done. I know you don't like it, but I do. It's flavor and it's sweet.
