Lord Sukeh Tei (SOO - keh TAY)
Lord Sukeh Tei
History
Born the only child, and only son, of Lord Baoak Tei and Lady Shuan Tei of Kerellon, Sukeh grew up knowing the weight of expectation on his shoulders. He would inherit his parent's title, and he would make himself and his people greater and better than the Tei's that came before him. Tei was not an overly powerful name, granted more due to their financial standing than to a long-term connection to nobility. With the civil war changing everything, Sukeh grew up knowing that other's weakness was going to be to his advantage.Magic
With no connection to the aether, and no natural well of his own, Sukeh was never considered for conscription to the war effort. And, with no siblings of his own, the Tei's could not do what many other high families did at the time, which was to volunteer their youngest and least of their children towards the effort. It must be seen that the nobles were in this with the commonfolk... The Tei's didn't have that luxury. It irked him, that any oddity of statistics could be born with a connection to the aether, and unceremoniously lift him off his feet whenever they wished. He was an outlier, in the breeding of nobles. Both his parents, although not overly strong, at least had some connection, statistically, he should too. His parents kept a powerful mage (a foreign slave they liked to call his 'guard') alongside Sukeh at all times to cover up his inability. The need to pretend formed a lifelong bitterness, although he kept his 'guard' by his side for most of his life. Until the man was better served as part of his experiments.Personality

Experiments
Through an extensive study of arithmancy and the long-buried works of the blood-mages known as Kro Ved'ma, Sukeh Tei was working on ways to remove a mage's connection to the aether and implant it in another person. Contrary to popular belief, his first test subject was not his daughter, Korana, she was merely the first to survive after the removal of their connection. It is unknown whether his son Khuren is the only mage to have benefitted from receipt of his father's stolen aether magic, but the experiments certainly saw some success with the otherwise limited natural magics Khuren was born with.Remove these ads.
