The Complete Chronometer

The Complete Chronometer, a holy construction of Ihstar, God of Time, once stood in the center of T'sara, to perfectly measure and record the passage of time for all to see. It has since been lost, though Ihstar is certain it's still out there somewhere.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Complete Chronometer uses a combination of magic and precise machinery to keep perfectly timed, a tall task given it's size and the amount of time the system is covering. The chronometer has ten circles, each with an arrow, and all working on a base of 6 or 12, with one exception.   1. Seconds: 60 seconds equalling one minute 2. Minutes: 60 minutes equaling one hour 3. Hours:24 hours in a day 4. Days: 6 days in a week. Two weeks are combined to mark a Fortnight 5. Weeks: There are 6 Weeks within a Month, or 3 Fortnights 6. Months: 12 Months within a Year 7. Years: There are 12 Years within Doda 8. Doda: There are 12 Dodas with with a Grossa 9. Grossa: There are 12 Grossa within a Milna 10. Millna: There are 12 Milna's. With 1728 years in one Milna, the Complete Chronometer is still on the first Milna, though it is about to cross onto the second.

History

It was with the Complete Chronometer that Ihstar announced his creation of time. The first tick of the clock signified the first second of "time", although the world of T'sara did exist before time, much to confusion of historians and more common mortals. With T'sara originally being a singular continent, it was put in the center of the world so that all could eventually travel to see it, and come to understand both the concept, as well as the measurement of time that he had created.

The mortals were intrigued by this creation, but also confused. The device seemed overly designed, the larger periods in the circles never moved. A solitary device like this, even as large as it was, would not serve all of T'sara. Attempts were made to recreate it, with all mortal races contributing their materials and talents, but none could replicate the device in it's size or in it's complexity.
