Böhömish

Before the Rending, every species and nation used the Böhömish language. It was considered the common language of that era. After the cataclysm, the degradation of the human and other so-called fair folk populations made it obsolete in many areas.

The language originates from one of the languages used in a human nation. That nation controlled a vast area in the past, and their influence on the other countries was even more significant. Over time it picked up words from other languages because, at that time, states were closer to each other than nowadays.

After the Rending new races rose, and the Böhömish was quite tricky for them in day-to-day activities. Scholars, menders, and other scientific personnel primarily used the language only. Maybe the most famous document of the current age, the non-agression pact between the Calamor Empire and the Dominion of the Hobgoblin, was also written in the Böhömish language.

The third and probably the smallest pillar of the Böhömish is the use of the language among dealers and carriers. They are the ones who travel a lot and frequently travel to many different places. They needed something in which they had a common ground and could understand each other. Because of them, many of their contacts like barkeepers, shop owners, and tradespeople started to use Böhömish too. Although in a limited way.
