Qat

Tacillia has many species and many nations. They rarely agree upon anything. But one species induces the same reaction from everybody. And this is the qat - a highly intelligent cat species with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. And just like among cats, you can find lovely and horrible individuals. Or just those that want to be left alone. But one thing is constant with them. It is chaos. And coupled with telepathy and telekinesis, it is a dangerous combination.
Based on studies of various scholars, including qat scholars, the whole qat species descends from one single cat who acquired these abilities that are now universal within the qat species. Since then, every qat offspring becomes a qat. It does not matter that both parents were qats or only one. However, nowadays, qats start to look upon themselves as superior to cats, and many of them only mate with qats.
After their birth, qattens are the same as kittens and don't possess any abilities. Telepathy and telekinesis come when they are roughly one year old, and their power increase with age and experience. Some of the qats' powers rival even the skat'ra queens. They don't want to rule over others but want to have a good life regardless of who or what they go through to achieve it. They live slightly longer than cats, but their life span is far less than other intelligent species. Like cats, they keep their fur clean all the time. If you accidentally or deliberately dirty them, you can be sure their revenge will catch up with you. It might be in a week or month, depending on the mood of the qat, but you won't be able to escape their wrath.
They don't have a spoken language. They communicate with telepathy, which can be highly efficient. With their parents, littermates, and kits, they can speak within a vast distance. With the rest, including other qats, they can communicate at a shorter distance but with multiple individuals simultaneously.
It is tough to distinguish an adult qat and a cat. If they are not careful, their body language is slightly different. But you must have good eyes and knowledge of cats to differentiate them. An easier way, if you are a magic user, is to use the spell that was developed just for the sole purpose of detecting qats. A lovely method is that they dream like cats, and as cats look like they are running while sleeping, qats use their abilities involuntarily. A small whirlpool close to a cat might be telekinesis. Or it can be just a whirlpool. And you can be deadly curtain you are facing a qat if you see a cat and a bow is aiming at you above them.
Detecting qats is a must. Everybody should know this spell somehow
