Summer Camp Prep 2024

WEEK 1

Assignment 1: Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

Changes... Well... I wasn't thrilled when I saw the first theme. My world is a fledgling world, and all I want is stability, and the changes can come later. But as I was thinking of it, I realized that even if I don't want to introduce any changes, I can add the precursors of a few changes. It will be a little foreshadowing.

Assignment 2: Based on this, decide how many prompts you'll go for during Summer Camp. Then, download the pledge document and fill it accordingly!

Oh, I'll definitely go for diamond. I had diamond in the previous three years. It will be a step back to target anything less. I might go for all the prompts but can't commit to that now.

Assignment 3: Get your categories and tags organized!

I think I'm good with this. I'm constantly making little tweaks when something comes up.I think I'm good with this. I'm constantly making little tweaks when something comes up.

Assignment 4: Take a look at your meta, primer, and any other high-level document and update it according to the current state of your world.

My high-level document is in my head. Please don't check my meta. :)

WEEK 2

Assignment 1: Consider what kinds of refuge would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

I was over the moon when I saw this theme. It fits perfectly with the region I'd like to flash out.

Assignment 2: Find a community—whether that’s our Discord server, Facebook Group, your RPG or friend group, or something else.

I'm not really a social person. But my friends read more or less all my writing during Summer Camp.

Assignment 3: Find ways to improve styling and layout in your world!

I wish I had time to do that. It is on my list to have a better look and feel for my world, but currently, it is on the back burner.

Assignment 4: If you’re a CSS wizard, maybe take the time now to give it a polish!

Like the previous assignment, I plan to do that. Although I'm not a CSS wizard, I'm a software developer. When I get there, I'll be able to come with something.

WEEK 3

Assignment 1: Consider what kind of beliefs would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

That will be more complicated than the previous theme, but it is possible. It would fit better for another region, but my friend voted that I should flash out the one I'll be working on during Summer Camp.

Assignment 2: Create a bank of inspirations! Quotes, music, description of experiences and shower thoughts, etc.

My inspirations are the likes that I get from total strangers. It always makes me feel good that someone liked what I wrote. That, along with the "Crow" theme entrance music of the pro-wrestler Sting. :)

Assignment 3: Find art and pictures that inspire you, and grab a map if you don't have one (and need one).

There won't be anything. I have a friend who is a fantastic graphic designer, but I don't have any money nowadays to pay her, and I don't want her to work for me for free.

Assignment 4: Check your inspirations again. Are they still relevant? Can you find any that better represent the current state of your project?

Yes, Sting's entrance music is still relevant. I just listened to it when I started writing this article. :)

WEEK 4

Assignment 1: Consider what kind of decay would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.

That's a good one for me again. Part of the region I'll be writing about is a swamp.

Assignment 2: If you like special tea when you write, stock up for a month. Tidy your office, make a “do not disturb” sign, and think about any other last-minute strategies to optimize your writing space and time!

Yes, I have to ensure everyone knows that nobody enters the room when the red card is on the door handle.

Assignment 3: Review your world homepage to hook potential readers!

Going back to look and feel. Let's hope I'll have time to do some designing in the future.

Assignment 4: Take a look at your author profile and pillar articles on your world and polish them!

I'll book some time for tomorrow to work on this item.
