Rembrandt
(a.k.a. Remmy)
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Other than showing wear around the edges due to her rough start in life Rembrandt looks very much like your average dragon turtle. It is her surroundings that seem more peculiar! Melorin claims she's a little on the chunky side right now because she's been receiving too many treats.
Physical quirks
The lack of UV and properly balanced calcium as she grew up has left Remmy with many uneven pyramiding scales and an especially humped back.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Rembrandt was brought in to the city to be sold as an exotic pet. As these things often go she was a dangerous animal with a keeper who couldn't handle her, and so she was turned loose in the then-new sewer systems of the central capital. Desperate for clean water she eventually tumbled in to the reservoir where she still is to this day. By the time she could reach the ledge she was far too big to leave through any of the exits. Rembrandt lived in lonely solitude for decades other than visits from the city underbelly men who thought of her as a convenient way to dispose of bodies. There was also an old human homeless woman who would tell her stories whenever she would take shelter there from severe weather above, especially about her grandchildren who she wasn't allowed to see.
After she devoured some goons who dared to bring the body of a young child she was walled in and began the slow process of starving to death in the dark. When the Copper Fangs moved in to the space they weren't actually aware of her initially since she was too weak to surface and the water was murky. Enough scraps were dumped in to the water that eventually she was strong enough to raise her head and ask for help. Remmy has been a good friend of the Copper Fangs and well cared for by them ever since, renouncing her man-eating ways entirely and serving as the first large defense the base had.
Education
Because of her solitude Rembrandt didn't get to learn like most dragon turtles might. At the time the Copper Fangs met her she wasn't even fluent in draconic. It has taken her until now to re-learn draconic and start putting full sentences in common together.
Mental Trauma
After being sealed in and left to die Rembrandt has a fear of dark spaces. She sometimes also panics that she will be abandoned but this occurs less and less lately and seems directly tied to how hungry she is.
Personality Characteristics
Likes & Dislikes
Likes:
Pancakes, ducks, saying rude
Vices & Personality flaws
Remmy is weak to the siren's call of shiny things and pancakes. It isn't hard to convince her to keep secrets, pass messages, or get up to mischief if you barter with these.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Melorin: He is her primary care-taker and has seen to correcting her health since the early days of the base. He loves her very dearly and she has a great affection for him but she can be staunchly against his chastising so they butt heads from time to time.
Penny: Thanks to her Rembrandt is learning language quickly and has found someone with the free time to read to her all about the outside world. Penny has never been allowed to go out much so the two have a kinship.
Hobbies & Pets
There are many ducks kept in the base for their eggs and ability to protect crops, but most of all they make Remmy very happy and she loves them all. Half of them are utterly terrified of her and the other half see her as the weirdest mother duck.
Speech
Remmy has a raspy, strangely airy voice that bellows and seems shaped by the throat thanks to her lack of lips. It is very loud thanks to her size so having a private conversation with her is difficult.

Wealth & Financial state
Deep beneath the algae-clouded waters of her reservoir Remmy has a hoard hidden on the bottom. They will take most anything shiny. So far the only two things the party is aware of is a badge of Correllon's symbol and a wind up tin toy duck that quacks then poos out a little egg.
An immense dragon turtle living in the reservoir of the Copper Fangs base. Brought to the extremely landlocked Central Capital by the exotic pet trade, she was abandoned in the then-new sewer system once she proved to be a less than excellent pet.
