The Amethyst

Located near the southwest coast of Imera, the Amethyst is considered to be one of the most fantastical places on the continent. Constructed and owned by Virion, an Elf mage known for his love of festivities and past shrouded in rumours and secrecy, the Amethyst has earned a reputation for hosting some of the largest and most extravegant festive gatherings in Imera, perhaps even the world. These festivities are also known for their exclusivity, with only a select number of invited individuals being able to even approach the building, further adding to its mystique.

Purpose / Function

Virion claims to have built the Amethyst to serve as a venue for large-scale festive gatherings, both to entertain his guests as well as to satisfy his own love of festivities.

Alterations

The Amethyst has remained largely the same as it was when it was first constructed, with most of the alterations being limited to new works of art being added to the interior, or new plants being added to the enclosed courtyard. Additionally, if the festivities being held there coincide with any major holidays, the decor is often altered to match.

Architecture

The Amethyst is constructed from white stone, with gold trimming along the walls, and deep purple tiling on the roofs giving the building its name. The interior of the Amethyst contains polished stone floors and purple carpets with gold trimming, as well as numerous works of art from throughout Taeva, including paintings and sculptures. The main hall is a large, open space reserved for dining, dancing, music, and performances, and is where the bulk of the festivities held here take place. There's also an enclosed courtyard and garden in the middle of the building for outdoor activities, and a number of guestrooms for events that last for longer than a day. Additionally, the grounds are staffed by numerous, intricately crafted constructs that tend to the estate grounds and guests, with seemingly no living staff occupying the grounds.

Defenses

It's commonly believed that the Amethyst has some form of magical protection, as those who attempt to approach its location find themselves unable to locate the building, either due to it being surrounded by a ward that forcibly redirects those who approach it away, or due to it being able to relocate itself when not in use. Additionally, even those who have been to the Amethyst find themselves unable to give any specific details about its location beyond it being near the southwest coast, leading many to believe that the building is also protected by enchantments that affect the memories of those who've previously entered it. According to various stories gathered over the years, it's said that those who've displeased Virion while on the grounds of the Amethyst (often through being disruptive towards other guests) are forcibly relocated outside of the building through magical means.

Tourism

The Amethyst has entertained a visitors of all walks of life, from nobles to commoners to heroes. The only criteria for recieving an invitation that seems to exist appears to be how interesting Virion considers his potential guests to be.
