Hedradec is a casting sickness unique to The Nurhetic Tradition, manifesting when a mage’s connection with the conscious universe overwhelms their perception, blurring the line between reality and mental projections. As Nurhetics rely on querying the universe, constantly engaging with layered illusions and mental landscapes, they risk overextension, causing these crafted visions to invade their waking world. Those afflicted with Hedradec find themselves trapped in cascading visions, often mistaking figments for real entities or events, which leads to disorientation and, in severe cases, a complete loss of control over their own mind. Though Hedradec is feared among Nurhetics, it’s also viewed as a cautionary boundary, a reminder of the delicate balance required to navigate consciousness without becoming consumed by it.
