The Riangh Wars, 731-614 UT

Overview

The Riangh Wars, a pivotal series of conflicts spanning 117 years (731 to 614 UT), represent a defining chapter in the history of South Tyril and its influence on the broader landscape of Rela. Marked by the struggle between the Southern Federation of tribal groups and the proxy rulers of the Priestesses of the Kah, these wars were not only about control over the lucrative spice, Riangh, but also a profound struggle for cultural and political identity. The culmination of the Wars saw the fall of the Pivoyat Dynasty and the rise of the Minore Dynasty, setting a precedent for southern self-governance. This period was instrumental in shifting the perception of southern tribes, from being seen as dependent on foreign rulers to capable of autonomous leadership, sowing the ideological seeds for the later emergence of the Uvan Empire.

The legacy of the Riangh Wars continues to resonate in the modern era, as the economic and political frameworks established then still govern the production and trade of riangh, and the descendants of the tribal groups remain largely within the same political structures. This historical epoch not only reshaped the south's role in Rela's politics but also forged a crucial conceptual leap, laying the groundwork for the technological and human-centric ethos of the Uvan, represented in Uvandar Humanology.
