Pwyll , the "Troll"

Pwyll is an ogre, but thinks himself a troll. He lives under the bridge of the village Faoilhurst, where he collects a toll from passing visitors.
Pwyll is no ordinary ogre, but the son of the Ogre prince of the Fae. His father sired him in an extramarital affair with a nymph and hid him. His blessing both made Pwyll more intelligent than the usual ogre and also protected him in his formative years.
The village of Faoilhurst has adopted Pwyll as one of their own, forming a symbiotic relationship with the gentle giant.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Pwyll is a relatively large specimen of an ogre, because of how well the village of Faoilhurst feeds him. He would tower over any of his kind by a few centimetres and his belly is wide and thick.

Apparel & Accessories

Pwyll only wears one piece of clothing, an oversized set of pants the villagers made from a large tablecloth. The pants have a pocked at the front in which Pwyll stores his toll for the day.

Personal history

Pwyll only remembers the time since he was placed under the bridge of the town. When he was a child, the villagers barely took notice, but he did hear the stories of trolls living under bridges from people passing over his.
From this he concluded that he had to be a troll and began exacting his duties. The villagers were fearful at first, but eventually got over this fear, approaching him with kindness and winning his trust.
Since then Pwyll lives for the village. He collects the toll and passes it along to the villagers for food and company, sharing readily.

Gender Identity

Pwyll presents and considers himself to be male, but due to his past, where he heard trolls being referred to as a mindless thing, a brutish creature, he is still used to the idea of being called "it" and therefore sometimes refers to himself as such as well. It is all the same to Pwyll and he does not consider it to be insulting.

Sexuality

Having never met another Ogre in his life, Pwyll does not know what his sexuality is. He is not attracted to any other species.

Education

Pwyll only speaks rudimentary Aolfian dialect, which he picked up from the villagers and passing travellers. He does not know much else, only learning whatever he may have heard from the villagers that visit.

Intellectual Characteristics

Pwyll considers himself relatively dumb, but does not let that get him down. He is happy and if the village is happy, then that is enough for him.

Morality & Philosophy

Building on this: To Pwyll the village is the ultimate good. He devotes his entire life to the villagers. They are his family and he loves to gift them his toll of the day, and loves receiving morsels they bring him. Whatever he is convinced is needed for the village, he will provide. Unknowingly, this devotion is part of what keeps Laoilhurst safe from the dangers of the world.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Pwyll thinks himself as a trueborn troll, but does not understand, that trolls would be far more territorial and violent. All he really wants, is to live under his bridge, collecting his toll and to spend his time in the village.

Personality Quirks

Pwyll spends most of his waking hours cramming under the bridge of the river near town, which he barely fits under. Nonetheless, he refuses to kick the habit, even if it means that he creates a temporary blockade for the river to flow properly.
Should someone try to pass the bridge, who does not live in the village, Pwyll will emerge, demanding a toll as payment, usually communicating in grunts and gestures.

Hygiene

For an ogre, Pwyll is surprisingly well kept. He only wears a set of large pants the villagers made him and the water of the river keeps him somewhat clean. Still his breath smells poorly and his body sweats rapidly, oozing the usual musk of a carnivore.
