Cordelia Dathmor

Cordelia Dathmor (a.k.a. Cord)

'"Again, we don't have to do this." Cord chides as she drains the cup in her hand and throws it aside. "I assure you, it will not end well on your part."   "I will not have my purse, and my honor, disrespected by a woman!" The young noble (whose name Cord never bothered to learn) screams before he charges her.   "Your funeral." Cord sighs as she handily steps aside from his initial charge and unsheathes her rapier.   The young noble whips around and brings his foil down with both hands, cutting through the air that once held Cord's form. To his right, the woman has brought her own sword up, underneath his chin.   "Last chance." she lilts.   Fury flashes in the young man's eyes as he attempts to swing once more into the woman who took most of his coin in a gamble and embarrassed him in front of his friends. Once more, he cuts through the empty air. Before he can turn to see where she has fled, he feels a pinch in his throat. Looking down, he's surprised to see the crimson tip of a sword protruding from his neck. He doesn't feel the blade until she removes it. His body hits the ground and blood bursts forth from the wound. She kicks him onto his back and leans over him.   "I warned you. At least your foolishness will buy a few rounds at the pub." She says as she removes the coin purse from his belt.   She wipes her blade clean on his surcoat as he gasps his last, struggled breaths and whistles a tune as she saunters into the night.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

An orphan, Cord was raised on the streets of Ghal Pelor by a thief master. As a young child, she excelled at second story work and would often sneak into buildings in order to unlock the doors for buglers. After purchasing her independence from the thief master, she struck out on her own. After a couple of impressive scores, she retired from thieving and made a name for herself in the dice halls and pubs as a competitive gambler and duelist.   Recently, a duel she was involved in went exactly how it always does, with her standing over a corpse. The problem was that this corpse was a wealthy merchant's heir and now there is a healthy price on Cord's head. Without any other options, she took a job with the Westbound Star Company to both flee and make some coin.
