Time and Calendars
Each day in Tairos lasts twenty-four hours. Daylight and night hours can vary based on the season but the hours in a day are consistent.
Tairos’ yearly calendar is divided among fourteen months, each of the gods and goddesses that Vale brought here have a month dedicated to them. The exact name of the month can vary from culture to culture. In ancient Balmoral the first month of the year is King’s Reach while to the Elves of Melanthris it is Celenarch’esen (meaning Lightbearer’s Gift) but no matter the name both belong to Sandor.
A year is 420 days and each month has between 27 and 30 days.
Below are the months as they are known in the Common Tongue and the order in which they appear on the calendar:
Sandor's Reach
Vale's Glory
Tatayne's Mercy
Wynte's Epiphany
Corellon's Grace
Moradin's Ire
Thatur's Fortune
Arroc's Prophecy
Galadir's Hunt
Ssambrae's Genius
Nisaba's Guile
Malyse' Revery
Atel's Strength
Neros' Promise
Jedha does not have a month as she is seen as more of a divine servant to the early calendar makers. She is often celebrated during the months of Sandor's Reach and Vale's Glory.
The months are often informally referred to by shorter names. For example; in common conversation, one might say their birthday is on the 20th day of Guile or they are meeting with a merchant guild in Ghal Pelor on Nisaba's 1st.
Since the Queen's Rebuke and the silence of the gods, there have been many generations of humans and halflings that have been raised without religion. For them, just like the gnomes, the names of the months may hold no meaning at all aside from convenience.
Manifestation
The flow of time impacts all of Tairos evenly... for the most part. Due to the chaotic and strange effects of the Queen's Rebuke time anomalies are not completely unheard of.
