Elf
When the Humans began to fight over which was greater, the mountain or the forest, Athair gave them the opportunity to find out for themselves. Using a burl of ash, he gifted them new forms to better represent the their chosen place.
He gave the Human of the forest properties of the trees. Drawing her up tall and limber, with the speed of the wind sewn into her lean form. Her eyes as sharp as an eagle's and her hearing as keen as a fox.
Athair told her and those of her clan to bathe themselves in the well of the tree and the forest would bless her. She became the first Elf. Those that followed her came after.
Charged with protecting the forest, they were told that they would return to the forest once their time on Talamh was done.
