Heagen Empire (HEE-gen)

Culture

The Northern portion of the Empire is tolerant of races that are not Human. However, as they are second class citizens, it is extremely unlikely to see a non-human in a position of any power. Even those that have found a means of rising into a sort of middle class as merchants or tradesman receive rather outrageous taxation.   The Southern portion leading toward Dragon's Crossing, have all been conquered during the expansion of the empire. As such, they are not as xenophobic as the northern half. Many of the elders, especially the Elves, can remember a time when they were free from bigotry and human bias.

Public Agenda

To bring control and structure to the world.

History

The city of Heagen had been founded in 4330. A collection of villages gathered together and formed the city that would become the heart of the empire. For a century, Heagen grew to the point of establishing a commerce and rallying of the local peoples to one banner.   In the year 4579, the Heagen Empire began when Xzabria Gavra named herself Empress and began the expansion of the empire. Pushing south into what was once the kingdom of Ilfia, they expanded to the southern coast and the western mountains. Xzabria sought to grow her empire for her own gain. Though she wetlands were bountiful with crops for export, the thought of greater riches to have control over drove the Empress to want to expand her borders.   By 4668, the Heagen Empire has stretched itself to its limit before the natural geography and the resources of the army. The expansion of the empire is currently stalled in the current year of 5324.
