A Day With The Lady Sarah Von Rikken

Dazy here, we’ve decided to keep a record of our adventures; so let’s see how do these things start…   After a busy day Doug, Vandir, and I arrived back at the guild hall to see two things at our front door a Halfling girl and note stab into our door (not related). First the girl, her name is Esmeralda turns out she’s a super fan of the guild and wanted to join us. She’s kind of a crazy but she seems cool over all and she did really well on this one. The note turned out to be from the Strongholds. According to the note they “handled” our litigations and in exchange we had to escort, guide, and guard this noble women around the town for thirteen hour (6am-at least 7pm), oh and for some reason we had to keep her away from the noble district; we didn’t ask why and we never found out, it didn’t really seem to matter at the time. So we mapped all the place we found to be of interest out and that would allow her to see what Talen'Lith has to offer and make it so we didn’t have any back tracking.   We got to the Dukes mansion slightly before 6am (she seemed surprised we were no time) to meet Lady Sarah Von Rikken, like chicken but with an r. She’s a noble from Banweal. She seemed board and hard to please right from the start. She also seemed to have a distaste for Talen'Lith and adventures as a whole. Oh! But she bought a watch from Doug!!   The first place we decide to take her was to Sky Cozy; a floating balcony that goes 400 feet in the air for a beautiful view of the city and a warm cup of tea. While we were up there Vandir showed her the route we planned to take today and we drank some “perfectly acceptable tea.” Lucky for us the beautiful sun rise worked in our favor and masked the slums from view. We seemed to be off to a good start though it was hard to tell.   Next we went to Be Our Guest; a little café that has a changing theme, the theme for that day was Fay Wild. It looked like a mystical garden, the tables looked like stumps and the stools were toadstools. Lady Von Rikken didn’t seem amused, she would lean away from the servers, but she didn’t seem like she was displease either.   The next place was Tilly’s TikToks, a place where you can get a clockwork doll in your image. On the way there however Lady Von Rikken’s purse was stolen, Vandir saw and imideantly reacted, we killed the guy and when on our way. Lady Von Rikken didn’t seem amused but such if life, he shouldn’t have stole (or at least been better at it). At Tilly’s we got a ‘scan’ of the Lady done and went on. We had already made plans to have Ino and Nebetka pick it up later and meet us with the finished doll.   She seemed to like shopping a bit so we decided to head to the Elven jeweler, her name slips my mind. But we ran into Tim, the Rainbow Wizard, he was even more strange than usual. Blocking the entire walk way we had to go into his tent; it was all dark but the center where there was and onyx fly. He wouldn’t let us pass unless someone bought the fly. After haggling with him, Esmeralda sold him her dolls of us (and he ate stings from them…I don’t know, I don’t wnna know) and Vandir sold him those element rocks he had we were able to purchase the fly and be on our way. Once at the jeweler we looked around for a bit and Esmeralda bought the watch of Dougs she had heavily discounted on the shelf (model #5).   At about 10:26 we arrived at Stingray Surfin’, literally we got to surf sting rays! I think I heard Vandir say he brought Moolissa here once but this was my first time, I had a blast and the Lady seemed to as well. At first she didn’t want to get wet but after Vandir explained that you didn’t get wet we were on our way and she seemed to enjoy herself.   We rode the rays to Loth Island, a beautiful island with an ancient mimic tree forest at the center and all around there were new and beautiful botanicals (id never tell but I love the flowers and the ever slight ocean breeze). Then we took the boat with the random little kid captain back to the main shore. The Lady asked about the little girl and the others defended her but eh, I couldn’t careless I don’t know much about her; she could be an archer for all I care.   Once back on the main land we were all a bit hungry so we decided to go to FF Sushi. This place was interesting, but let’s just says it’s a cruelty-free sushi place and leave it at that. Vandir tried to offer the lady Merfolk but she decided to stick with the salmon Esmeralda offered her. She seemed impressed we had everything planed out and that there was little to no wait time anywhere, little did she know we were bribing all the place to let us skip lines and hold tables, on the guilds coin of course.   So with that being said we sent Doug ahead to pay Mr. Bubbles our next stop, and that didn’t goes as planned. We end up coming to an ally where we run into some other adventure (a Half-Dragon, Mage, and Cleric) who refused to let us by nobility or not. After knocking the half-dragon out the mage disappeared and the cleric let us though, he was much more reasonable. The Lady was dissatisfied and un amussed with “adventurers pride”. We arrived at Mr. Bubbles Emporium, a place to get in a big bubble and drift around the town for a time. She seemed to enjoy it at first but after about 10 minutes we decided to land and walk the rest of the way to the Thunder Dome.   At the Thunder Dome, a place where you bid on the opportunity to use a stone golem to fight an opponent. As we approached while the sound was muffled the tremor in the ground greet you and make you feel the power in your heart before you even enter the arena. I love this place; it’s the best date spot in town in my opinion. It was noble hour to when we arrive at 2:30; she joined a few other noble Ladies they talked a bit and she told them she enjoy the island and the stingrays, but that she didn’t like that she was the only one to tip the bard… there was a brad…mustn’t have been very good. The other noble Ladies didn’t seem to care for the stingray and Lady Von Rikken dismissed herself and came back to us. We convinced her that fighting wasn’t all brutality and that fighting can be an art. We won the bid in second place and chose the new girl Esmeralda, she the most graceful out of us. With Esmeralda’s skills and fancy foot work she won the battle and proved that it can be an art, the lady seemed to enjoy herself so that’s good. Esmeralda will make a fine addition to the guild I think, I like her. After we left the Thunder Dome we went next door to the guard training ground where we showed her around and talked to the Captain. He seemed less annoyed like a whole new man, until Esmeralda mentioned adventure, and then she got a displeased look! Lady Von Rikken seemed pleased to know we had a guard system in the works and that it was adequate.   As we started heading to the museum and art area, we decided to take an ally way where we were met by 9 thugs with Stronghold Clan pins. Vandir distracted the Lady with a poorly dancing cat and I talked the Strongholds into standing down by showing them the note that was pinned to our door. In the Arts district we stopped by the arcane museum, Museum of the Arcane, I can’t even begin to understand that stuff. The Lady seemed uninterested and we left soon after. We stopped by the Polarized Transmuting Geometry sculpture and Rafiki’s Mandela’s; she seemed to like both but was still not really impressed. We tried to keep her away for the library but that didn’t go over well…let’s just leave it at that.   At 5 we were on our way to dinner but decided to stop by InfiniSwim, a never ending pool that filters water in and out from the Water Plain through two huge portals. The Lady declined to get wet so we just looked in the gift shop and left. Doug when back to buy her some earring she was looking at as a gift from the guild (wait, did we give those to her…I am sure we did, maybe?). Anyway, on the way to Itha’s Food-Fight, a place Esmeralda recommended she (Esmeralda) explained the place as a “place for dinner and a show.” Esmeralda was the only one who had even been there or even heard of it for that matter, I am pretty sure there was a password or secret knock to get in. The Lady was impressed by the exclusiveness, another point for Esmeralda. When we arrived we met Ino and Nebetka at the entrance with the clock work doll on time and the Lady seemed pleased with her souvenir (we were supposed to give her the earrings as well, but again I don’t reamer that part, note to self, ask Doug if he still has them). We finally go to our seat and the server explained the way it works to us, and wow. So you basically pick what food you want and it fights! I chose an Octopus dish; there was also a stench kow, chicken, alligator, and an eggplant. The Chicken went down first and the Kow was the winner, kinda, we still ate it.   After talking a bit more we took the lady back to the Dukes mansion, she paid us (tip included) and told us that she actually did enjoy the evening!   Unfortunately, a bit later, maybe a month or so, we hear that Lady Sara Von Rikken was arrested for treason of Banweal. I wonder what happed. Could she have been framed? We asked around a bit but no one seemed to know, maybe one day we will.   ~Dazy
