Flight Arena

Located within The Academy at The Rookery, The Flight Arena is a large sports stadium type arena.
On one of the short sides of the oval is a "high-dive" with platforms at 3, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 1000 feet.
Located at the base of the high dive is a small foam pit which is uncovered for beginner practice. Water could have also worked but only for wings that are designed to get wet, if you get a songbird wet they won't be able to fly again until their wings are dry and heaven forbid wet wings pull a beginner down to the bottom of the pool, so they compromised with foam even if its a little rough on the feathers.
There are 4 widely spaced four hundred meter running take off lanes ending at the edge of the pool for begginer practice as well.
Radio Headsets are used in classes conducted in the flight arena so all the students can hear the instructor no matter how far apart they have to be.
The Flight Arena allows the Academy to host intramural flying events with other Rookery Academies. Including aerial acrobatics, flight dance, aerial martial arts, etc.
