Goliath

  The Goliath are a tall and brutish race that live on the tallest peaks of the world, hunting and competing for sport. Few folk can claim to have seen a goliath, and fewer still can claim friendship with them. Their bodies look as if they were carved from mountain stone and give them great physical power, their spirits take after the wandering wind, making them nomads who wander from peak to peak, their hearts are infused with the cold regard of their frigid realm, leaving each goliath with the responsibility to earn a place in the tribe or die trying.

Appearance

  Goliath have stone grey skin that comes light or dark, and their broad faces appear to be chiseled from rock itself. Tall, imposing, and muscular, goliath often have tattoos with spiritual or clan-related meanings, and they hold themselves high as their honor means more to them than anything else. Their eyes are solid white, giving no intention to their emotion. Male goliath are always bald, unable to grow hair, but sometimes they sport bushy black beards, even going so far as to braid them into knots or adorn them with trinkets, and female goliath have thick black hair that they treat equally. Of male and female goliath, they see each other as equals, and so no expected gender roles are established within their society; and those that do exist in the society of others are often ignored outright.

Features

• Ability Score- Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

• Age- Goliaths have lifespans comparable to humans. They enter adulthood in their late teens and usually live less than a century.

• Size- Goliaths are between 7 and 8 feet tall and weigh between 280 and 340 pounds. Your size is Medium.

• Speed- Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

• Natural Athlete- You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.

• Stone’s Endurance- You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

• Powerful Build- You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

• Mountain Born- You have resistance to cold damage. You’re also acclimated to high altitude, including elevations above 20,000 feet.

• Languages- You can speak, read, and write Common and Giant.
