They preserve Yast's magical heritage, document spells, and study the effects of magic on various aspects of life.   Sorcery Regulator- This title is granted to mages responsible for overseeing the proper use of magic within Yast. They ensure that sorcery and warlockry remain regulated and that no mage strays into forbidden or dangerous territory. Sorcery Regulators often work closely with the Tranquil Order to maintain order.   Adept- Adepts are accomplished mages who have completed their training and proven their magical competence. Public Agenda

Yast's public agenda is centered on cultivating a society where magic is wielded responsibly and for the collective good. Through accessible magical education, ethical magic use campaigns, and a dedication to environmental stewardship, Yast aims to harmonize magic with nature. The kingdom celebrates its unique magical heritage with cultural festivals, while promoting ongoing research and innovation to advance arcane knowledge. By fostering cultural exchange and embracing feedback, Yast strives for continual improvement, driven by the belief that responsible magic can elevate society and create a better future for all.

History

The foundations of Yast's mageocracy were laid centuries ago, in a time when the intricate dance between mortals and magic was just beginning. Scholars, seers, and spellcasters congregated, seeking to unravel the secrets of the arcane forces that threaded through the world. Over time, these gifted individuals found themselves intertwined by a common vision: to harness the untamed energies of magic for the betterment of their society.   As their arcane knowledge flourished, the mages realized that they possessed the means not only to wield unparalleled power but also to guide their nation. Thus, Yast's mageocracy was born — a realm where those who held dominion over magic held dominion over the governance of the land itself.   At the heart of Yast stood Castburg, a sprawling citadel of learning and enlightenment. Within its walls, mages of all ages and origins gathered to undertake rigorous training, the likes of which were unrivaled across Cevantia. Castburg wasn't merely an institution; it was the crucible in which raw magical potential was forged into formidable arcane prowess.   To mark their mastery, each mage imprinted their aura upon the walls of Castburg as proof of their studies. These auras, vibrant manifestations of their magical journey, transformed the citadel into a living testament to the ongoing legacy of Yast's sorcerous heritage.   But with great magical power came the need for vigilant guardianship. The Tranquil Order, an enigmatic order of witch hunters, emerged as the watchful sentinels of Castburg. Clad in robes woven from resolve and armed with silvered blades, they dedicated themselves to hunting down rogue sorcerers and warlocks who threatened to unleash their magic upon the world unchecked. Under their relentless vigil, sorcery and warlockry remained strictly regulated throughout Yast, preventing the misuse of magic for nefarious purposes.

Magical Protectors

The annals of Yast's history would forever be entwined with the shadow of Nallorian, the malevolent overlord who sought dominion over all lands. In the climactic wars against Nallorian, the mages of Yast played a pivotal role. Their mastery of magic, honed within Castburg's hallowed halls, became a beacon of hope amidst the encroaching darkness. They trained tirelessly to channel their arcane might against Nallorian's formidable armies, countering his sinister sorceries with their own controlled enchantments.   As the wars raged on, the Archmage of Yast emerged as the guiding star, a sage ruler whose wisdom was only matched by their command over magic. With their guidance, the mages stood united, turning the tide of battle against Nallorian's tyranny. Their collective efforts proved that the mageocracy of Yast, was a force to be reckoned with.   And so, the mageocracy of Yast stood triumphant, a land where wizards wielded not just wands, but also the reins of power. Castburg remained the fountainhead of arcane knowledge, its walls resonating with the echoes of countless auras imprinted by generations of mages. The Tranquil Order persisted as the vigilant guardians, ensuring that magic never strayed into the realm of chaos.

Demography and Population

The Mageocracy of Yast boasts a population primarily composed of mages and their families, making it a unique society where magical prowess is highly valued. While exact demographic statistics are elusive due to the secretive nature of Yast, it is known that the mage population far outnumbers non-magical citizens. This dominance of magic users shapes every aspect of Yast's society, from governance to culture.   In addition to mages, Yast is home to a small number of non-magical individuals, and artificers who serve in various support roles within the mageocracy. These include artisans, laborers, and administrators who contribute to the functioning of Yast's infrastructure and economy. Despite their minority status, these citizens enjoy certain privileges and protections under Yast's laws, although they are often overshadowed by their magically gifted counterparts.
