Telmuth Vidari
Telmuth Vidari
The tall, gruffly handsome man looks about a decade younger than his sixty-one years. He wears his thick black hair cut short, and he dresses fashionably but not ostentatiously. Telmuth reveres Tymora, Lady Luck, and encourages the boisterous character of his inn, believing it to be the secret to its continuing financial success. Fistfights, broken-bottle battles, and even dagger duels don’t bother him unduly, though he might step in with a heavy club if a brawl gets out of hand. His regulars know when to stop.

Personal history
In his thirties, Telmuth Vidari fought in many of the pivotal battles in the Goblinblood Wars and the wars against Zhengyi. He came away from those battles missing the fourth finger on his left hand and with an odd triangular scar on the left side of his chin. He also left with a firm understanding that the world was a fascinating place filled with hidden wonder, and set off for an adventurer’s life. Years later, Telmuth fell into service with Riordan Parnell and became one of the accomplished rogue’s most trusted associates.
Six years ago, when Riordan asked him to give up the adventuring life and run Muddy Boots and Bloody Blades, Vidari jumped at the chance, eager for an easy retirement and fully cognizant of his luck in surviving even this long.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
If serious weapons are drawn, dangerous magic is used, or if a member of his staff is attacked, Vidari does not hesitate to draw his own weapon. On a few occasions he has killed an unruly patron outright. Vidari does everything he can to keep the North Tower Guard out of Muddy Boots, going so far as to subsidize their drinking in Ironhead's Tavern on the eighth floor.

Family Ties
Telmuth's wife, Florence, is a mediocre cook but expert accountant for the inn; she is almost never seen. His 25-year-old daughter, Clarissa, is spoiled rotten.
