02.9.9.9 The End of "The Curse of the Crimson Throne"

Party Lost. Bad things happened.

The heroes made their way below the castle Korvosa to attempt to stop queen Ileosa Arabasti from performing the ritual to awaken Sorshen. They failed with the entire party being slain during the battle with the queen.   The ritual was completed. Most of the population of Korvosa was slain in an instant, 15,000 lives extinguished. 10000 slaves had their throats slit with the blood flowing down special pipes connecting to the pyramid that contained Sorshen's essence.   The Queen threw the bodies of the heroes into the blood pool that formed around the bones of the dragon Kazavon..   The Runelord Sorshen rises from the blood pool mounted upon the back of the reborn great blue wyrm. Queen Ileosa pledges her alliegence to Sorshen.
  Sorshen commands Ileosa to travel south and aid Cheliax in expanding their empire. Demanding that she allows Karvosia to become a providence again.   At height of the sixth moon of the year 4716 Sorshen's vampiric forces will awaken and slay all of the living.   Sorshen's opens a portal large enough for both her and Kazavon step through arriving somewhere under the ocean near the mordent spire.   Captain Cressiada rallies what is left of the Guard and escapes off into the wilds of varisnia with the younger daughter of the Queen. Not to be heard from again for years when they are encountered within The Ladies Light.   Lorthact assumes control over the Acadame in the service of one of the Dukes of Hell.   Queen Ileosa Arabasti travels south heading into the capital of Cheliax Egorian where she meets with the young queen Abrogail Thurne II using magic to compel Abigail to obey her.   A series of successful strategic decisions within the next handful of years the Kingdom of Cheliax has expanded and reclaimed most of it's former territories to the north and claimed almost every island within the inner sea region.   As of years turning in 4716 Queen Ileosa has assumed the title of Empress after the Emperess Abrogail died was sent to hell while attempting to retake Westcrown and now sits upon the throne of Cheliax.
