Jerras

Jerras is a large man with brown hair, beard and mustache. He is in good shape from a life of hard work.
Jerras' family were farmers in the Duchy of Urnst, as the youngest of three sons, Jerras knew that he wouldn't inherit much, and basically work for his oldest brother on the farm for the rest of his life. Determined to make a better future for himself, he joined a caravan heading to the Free City of Greyhawk. Stories always portrayed Greyhawk as a city of opportunity and riches.
His dreams ended when his caravan was attacked in the Cairn Hills. Goblins with shields bearing a red hand descended on the caravan and quickly slaughtered many of the guards. Jerras and about a dozen others were captured and brought to their lair.
Over the course of weeks, his fellow prisoners disappeared one by one until he and a merchant's wife named Elena were the only two left. Then a miracle happened, a group of young adventurers took out the red hand goblins and freed them, bringing them back to the mining town of Diamond Lake. Elena began making contacts and was able to go back to her home and family, but Jerras didn't have anywhere to go.
He took on odd jobs for a few weeks, patching fences, repairing sheds and the like, but eventually even those odd jobs dried up. With nothing else to do, he approached Dourstone Mines and asked for a job. He had heard that the dwarven Ragnolin Dourstone was the lesser of the evil mine managers.
Then he ran into one of his saviors, the young and attractive alfar named Delilah. She offered to hire him to work at their base and take care of the place when they were off adventuring. He jumped at the chance. They may have saved him twice.
