Damage Transference

Effect

The Character using this Power can heal physical wounds on another Character.
Specifically, this Character can heal up to their APs of Damage Transference from the Current Body Condition of the injured character, provided that neither is currently experiencing additional damage and they remain in continuous physical contact for a full minute.

At the time of Power purchase, the Player may choose instead to have their Damage Transference affect a different type of damage instead: Mind for healing psychic wounds, or Spirit for healing spiritual wounds. All other Attributes referenced in this description of Damage Transference will remain as written!
Also at the time of Power purchase, the Player may choose to increase the Factor Cost by one for each additional type of Damage that can be Transferred. During each usage, the Player will specify at the outset how many APs of healing will go to which eligible Attribute. Everything else in this description stays as written.

Side/Secondary Effects

Every time a Character uses this Power, they run the risk of injury to themselves. In fact, it is possible for the Character to become more severely injured than the Character being healed!
When Damage Transference begins, the Character with this power states how many APs of damage they will heal. They must then remain in physical contact with the target.

An entire minute? Easy enough. If we've got to take a car ride somewhere anyhow, nobody minds having a cat in their lap!

It's a scientifically proven fact!

— how often does Silverwing ride as a passenger in a car after a combat, anyway?

I usually weigh between 110 and 120 pounds, Angel.

And I have a thick fur coat even in summer.

Rissa points out that she is a LOT, in the "lapcat" sense

Nobody who likes their blood being on the inside is going to argue with a hundred pound leopard, either.

Thomas continues to see no problem here.

At the end of the minute of Power Activation, the number of APs of damage healed become the AV/EV of an Action Check against the user's Int/Mind.
Any and all RAPs from this check manifest as damage sustained by the Damage Transference user, who may choose to distribute their injury between their own Body and Mind as they wish.

Manifestation

So.

You do this injury check?

Thomas reviews the times he has heard about the normally touch-hesitant hybrid flopping against someone in a car and seeming to go to sleep instantly

Yep.

Rissa wants a coffee refill.

Every time?

Thomas

Yep.

Rissa is trying to figure out how to end this conversation.

Do the doctors know about this?

Thomas

No.

Rissa may have miscalcuated.

Can I tell them?

Thomas

No.

Rissa starts lashing her tail in preparation for a full-blown argument.

So all the team knows is, they hurt like hell. And then you leaned on 'em and went to sleep. Because you always sleep in car rides. And then by the time we're pulling into another driveway, they feel better.

Thomas

In a nutshell, yes.

Steven or Don probably gave them first aid already.

So. Hey. Even better medical care than expected.

Rissa lets her tail slow down a bit, in case this is NOT going to be a squabble.

Yeah, but, what about the effect on you?

Thomas

Rissa points at her Regeneration.

Pfft, I can do that too.

Thomas points at his own Regeneration and also his Superspeed

You can't get away with napping on someone in the back of the car, though.

Rissa

I could use Superspeed to shorten that minute, though!

Thomas is cruising for an argument with a GM next

Listen here, smart alec, don't get us into a fight with the narrators. Damage Transference takes an Intelligence Attribute, a Mind Attribute, physical contact, and fifteen entire phases.

Rissa's tail is going a little faster again

Or maybe a Range bonus.

Thomas

Or that. Yes.

Anyway, I don't want to live in a reality divided between "the heedless" and "the martyrs". I don't think Steven Reynolds does either.

Leave it be.

Please.

Rissa

Okay, fine

And no obvious manifestations beyond, "Hey, that doesn't feel so bad any more."
