Thanks to the efforts by Code Blue and teams led by New York's own heroes, the drones with their toxic payload have been captured. Anonymous sources do state that not all the balloons are filled with a toxic ooze. Only a portion contains the mutagenic substance.
In fact, rough numbers show that only 2% of the balloons actually contain the strange substance. The rest hold colored gelatin, similar to what is found in toy slime.
This indicates that this entire traumatic event that has rattled many New Yorkers could be a ruse. A distraction. As with previous troubles concerning Dr. Overmind in the past, his true crime may have yet to happen. Jewelry stores and financial institutions have been put on alert, bringing in extra security from local security firms, such as Ironclad Securities.
In the region around the Bandshell in Central Park, the struggle against the last of the drones is concluding. Complicating this is what seems to be a mob of mutated New Yorkers. Code Blue has been notified and replied that they are taking steps to collect and contain the victims.
Aiding in this are the local vigilantes, the Knights Vigilant. Specifically, Moon Knight, Bronze Tempest, Loki, and Tesla. They have been aided by three more of the local 'hero' community, such as what may be a member of the mysterious group known only as Mouse Force. In a surprising development, the Gotham City eco-terrorist known as Poison Ivy has also appeared to help bring an end to this chaos.
But they are still hampered in their efforts by the mysterious 'Nega-Knight', who is determined in his assault against Moon Knight. Joining in with Nega-Knight is a woman calling herself 'Silk Sphinx'. Gadget-laden, she has been focusing her attacks against Loki and the armored Tesla Coil with unfortunate success.
Anonymous sources indicate that the ooze, which is concentrated in the area around the vigilant team, acts as if is being directed. Dr. Overmind is infamous for his technological telepathic control. Devices he has employed more than once on people! Researchers from Wayne Tech and Stark Enterprises agree that, given Overmind's technology, the mastermind may be directing the mutagenic ooze remotely.
New Yorkers are advised to alert the authorities in the event they see or encounter independently moving puddles of orange ooze.

OOZE EXPOSE: ORIGIN OF THE OOZE, PT 5
by Meil MingReporting from Vibora Bay, this is a continuing look into the Orange Ooze mutagen that threatens New York City's Central Park area. This is a breaking update in the investigation.
New analysis from Phoenix Industries delivered to the Dawn Sun Reporter show that the composition of the Ooze matches preliminary results against pollen from a rare plant called, the Crystal Jade Vine. This rare and endangered plant factors into cultural record legends in the Amazon Basin, Tibet, regions of the Australian outback, Indonesia, and oral traditions of ancient cultures in what is now Vibora Bay.
According to experts from the Franklin Institute and Leopardworks Savanna Ltd, the rare plant is considered critically endangered. As such, its illegal to transport without a license. This hasn't deterred certain organizations, such as the Golden Lotus, from smuggling and cultivating the plant. For the Golden Lotus, this is specifically for the meta-powered tattoos they are infamous for.
Anonymous sources in the Vibora Bay area suggest that the mysterious Ivory Talons are one of the major buyers. Currently, they are completing for sole control over the Jade Vine plant. Authorities in Vibora Bay have evidence that the Bonegrinders are the leading criminal gang that would traffic in endangered species like the Crystal Jade Vine.
Further information about the Bonegrinders and Ivory Talons with respect to their connection to the Jade Vine plant is forthcoming.

Police responded this evening to another outbreak of violence, this time at the 59th Street Marine Transfer Station at Pier 99.
This followed on the heels of a local vigilante group combating a collection of advanced robotic attack devices that had taken several city employees hostage. These devices were delivered to both the NYPD CSI division and the NYPD's Meta division, Code Blue, for study.
Local gang members of the Disco Boys, provided key eyewitness accounts of the rescue by the vigilante team and leads to the origin of the robotic devices.
Rescued city employees have been taken in for care and treatment at the time of this reporting.

More information has come to light from the underground facility beneath Central Park.
Brave members of the Department of Sanitation of New York have ventured deeper into the mysteriously refit and technologically advanced pneumatic tube subway system terminal. Renovations seem to extend to the entire dimensions of the terminal. State-of-the-art security, biometrics, and more have been installed.
The exploration crew reports more "Science Court" combat robots roam the halls, operating the consoles. This suggests that the combat robots are an addition, yet not fully integrated into the technology. That fact rules out the direct influence of the "Science Court" criminal organization with its mad mastermind as the responsible party.
In the mid and southern sections of the renovated terminal, members of the Knights Vigilant are defending themselves from an attack by the criminal mastermind, Dr. Overmind. The mastermind has battered back the heroes using his full complement of shape-shifting ‘Omni-Drones’. In fact, an unnamed assistant of his has already separated Statesman from Sahara and Taki.
A further update concerning this new vigilante being called Silver Ninja. She has jumped to the defense of the Knights Vigilant members, evening the odds with Overmind and his creations. Silver Ninja ambushed, then disabled one of Overmind's Omni-Drones, allowing an opening for Taki and Sahara to start to turn the tables on the mastermind.

STAR LABS / WAYNETECH PROTOTYPE TEST CONTNUES
Mid-day the new STAR Labs / WayneTech "Avatar" prototype took its first steps today outside the lab.
Fledgling research into the world of human to machine communication took a bold new step today, with the joint progress reporting success as a 'drone pilot' was able to successfully manipulate a holographic drone under controlled conditions.
This hologram was, with limited success, able to allow the pilot to access and enter a hazardous area though a new neural interlink technology.
