Praetor
Qualifications
To be elected as Praetor, one must be
- a citizen of the Roman Empire in good standing
- at least 33 years of age
- a veteran of either Caesar's Imperial Military or Caesar's Imperial Sodalitas, having served the Roman Empire for at least eight years and received at least four personal commendations
- neither a prior resident of, nor a property owner within, the district this Praetor will oversee
Appointment
Most Praetors are elected by a specifically designated set of citizens. A few special praetura are chosen by Caesar with advice from the Senate.
