PC Rowan Trickfoot

A lightfoot Halfling with brown eyes and olive skin.   Background
Welby was helped by his wife Verna Trickfoot in the upkeep of his father’s farm near Beluir, capital of the halfling realm of Luiren. When Welby’s father grew ill he moved downtown to work as a clerk for Mayor Calcitro Burrow. For many years Verna cared for their land and three children Risca, Rowan, and Radomir, while Welby traveled back and forth for work.
After the passing of his father Welby sold the Trickfoot farm and chartered his family a ship to the sword coast to begin a new life. With their savings they established a new farmstead in the new village of Phandalin, southeast of Neverwinter, where they laid down roots as an important part of the community. For a century Rowan and her family lived and worked in happiness.
A gentle human local named Pavlo caught the eye of Rowan and through the years a deep and lasting love grew. While not formally married, Pavlo became a part of the family and shared many memories with the Trickfoots. Rowan while skilled in labor and trade found she longed for more enticing thrills and began doing jobs for people who need to “acquire” certain items and gold. While her reputation for being quick handed proceeded her, eventually her hubris caught up, and a heist gone wrong created a powerful adversary. While she hasn’t seen her criminal partner since that night, their threat of revenge looms.
The summer of 1484 changed Rowan forever. Pavlo came down with an unknown sickness, and in his elderly age he succumbed to it and passed away holding Rowan’s hand on the family farm. With her lover gone, and her parents also elderly, much of the farm work fell on Rowan and her siblings. But while she was away getting supplies one night, she returned to find her farm on fire and the bodies of Welby, Verna, and Risca slain by an unknown adversary. Her brother Radomir was nowhere to be found.
With nothing left but her skills, Rowan buried her family and sold the land to her neighbor Qelline Alderleaf. As Rowan walked north, she knew she would not return to this community she called home for a long time, or at least until she had the answers she sought.   BG: Folk Hero
Additional BG feature: Common Born - Commoners notice they look of someone who has toiled all their life and trust you with jobs around their settlement. Common folk are prone to offering local jobs that need done to you. People of higher stature judge you by your common look and are more keen to dismiss you as useful for diplomatic or jobs that deal with people of status.
