Session 11: Dragon Door
General Summary
Dagor gave 40 GP and a greater healing potion for clearing out the goblins, though he knew of the gulthias tree and had gold dragon embroidery and purple interior robes. Sharwyn Hucrele was devastated to hear about the loss of her children and gave the group 250 GP for her signet rings. The group sold their loot and Hadden bought a traveling coat. The blacksmith explained that the dwarven map they found was the mythical Forge of Fury located in the hidden Keep of Khundrukar, under the stone peak, North of Blasingdell. Magical weapons and riches lie their, but Orcs have been raiding the surrounding area lately.
Constable Felosial found out one of the bandits that attacked the group was Bartholomeil Smitherson from the town of Blasingdell and the symbol on the letter has been seen on shields of certain knights that are visiting merchants in the same town. The Smitherson family are a large crafter family, though not know for criminal activity. The group heard rumors that the elves working for Emerald Enclave in Neverwinter forest to the West are hostile to hunters, a giant creature has attacked a merchant caravan traveling through The Crags hillside to the East, and Dagult Neverember Open Lord of Waterdeep has freed a female pirate captain from custody in Waterdeep.
The group bought some potions and a prayer from Corkie at the temple of Pelor and headed back to the Sunless Citadel to unlock the dragon door. On the way they ran into a cluster of giant wolf spiders and defeated all but one, though some members fell unconscious momentarily. After healing their wounds the team made their way past the locked dragon door and into a room with a glowing orb lightly playing music. As the party came close the music swelled ominously and everyone except Hadden ran out of the Citadel in fear. Hadden struck the orb, the music swelling louder scaring the other farther away, finally it was destroyed and the group solved a dragon statue's riddle in the next room. A wall opened and the next room had a spiked pit with green light and sarcophagus on the other side. As the group approached the pit a quasit appeared behind them trying to scare them into the pit, unaffected Hadden failed to entangle the creature in vines, and it lashed out knocking Thoril unconscious. As the group treated their friend, Jot the quasit laughed gleefully "You have freed me from my bond to guard the dragonpriest! I will haunt you forever!" then turned into a bat and flew out the room. The group jumped over the pit, Hadden in a swirl of wind. Upon opening a dragon embroidered sarcophagus they found a magically sealed troll that attacked them out of hunger. After the dragonpriest troll was defeated by a rapier hit from Rowan, the group looted the gold and spell scrolls from the sarcophagus.
Upon arriving back at Oakhurst the party had a celebratory drink before preparing for their long travel north to Blasingdell the next day.
