Session 25: Catacombs Part 1

General Summary

The Elves invites us to their watchtower and they tell us about the blight. As we walk, they ask PCP to help find the source of the blight. They bring us through the forest and she waves upwards. PCP doesn’t see anythingbut shortly after she grabs a vine and jumps as the vine shoots her upwards into the air. Rowan gets excited and immediately follows suit, jumping into the air. Dameila, Thoril, & Hadden all follow. While three of us stick the landing, Hadden almost doesn’t land on the platform but saves himself. We follow them inside the watchtower and we ask for a place to short rest. Rowan looks around the room and steals a book about plants in Faerun. As we rest, PCP is told that they need people to go into the Catacombs to figure out what is causing the blight. We are introduced to Cassie, an Emerald Enclave agent, who is familiar with the Catacombs, though hasn’t been to the deeper levels. She tells us about Sister Brennen who has disappeared after going into the Catacombs. PCP agrees to help and Cassie leads us to the Catacombs. She leads us South West and we see armored knights in battle with an elk and boar. Thoril runs from the treeline and goes to help the 4 men. Rowan stays in the treeline but draws her short bow to offer coverage for Thoril. We help them kill the animals and we are introduced to Lord Eravien Haund aka “The Hound” of the Lord’s Alliance. He is looking for Zhentarium thugs, offers us payment if we find or capture them. We continue our journey to the entrance of the Catacombs.
We reach the archway to the mosuleum, that leads to a stone staircase. The stairs appear to be centuries old, while the building itself looks much newer. (---my notes at this point legit say “something ate sister Brennen” and then I have that we basically just continue our way further----) Rowan gives Thoril a torch as he leads us further into the Catacombs. We see a circular put about 5 feet deep when we discover two sets of eyes. 2 ghouls lunge towards us as Rowan fast hands to her short bow. Dameila attacks with her Morningstar. One of the ghouls goes to attack Dameila but fails. Thoril then hits a ghoul for 13 damage and kills it. The second ghoul is attacking Rowan begins wrapping their hands around Rowan’s throat. Rowan fast hands to her rapier, slashing the ghoul and killing it. Hadden takes & relights the torch. Rowan collects a Scroll of Silence lvl 2 which she gives to Dameila. Rowan collects a book with the symbol of The Harpers on it, the book is written in some sort of code. 4 Zombies attack PCP. After the group bands together to defeat the zombies, they step onto the stairs and being falling, plummeting to almost certain death……. Okay we meet the Orc, Tiefling, and Elf in this session but I have zero notes on when/how we meet. Only remembered that because my notes for the next session start with the fact that we saved them, so please add them where they go I guess
