Session 26: Delving Deep Dungeons

General Summary

PCP finds themselves falling through the stairs and we all take damage falling to the ground as we bounce off walls. Thoril, however, is super incredible badass and when he hits the ground he rolls into a warrior position. Hadden, however, is not as lucky. As he tries to pull out his wand, he punches himself in the face and takes 9 damage before hitting the ground. Thoril stands up & lights a torch. The room they are in has tombs and there are 2 doors. Rowan, still getting herself together, sees a small gnome hand sticking out of rubble. She tries to free him but she cannot lift the boulders, she yells for Thoril to help. At this point, the Orc, Tiefling, and the Elf are all in bad condition. The elf in the worst condition with a broken leg. Thoril and Rowan free Hadden as we hear bones cracking in the distance. The group is trying to figure out how to get back to Cassie, who wasn’t on the stairs when they collapsed. We have rope, but no grappling hook. Thoril then looks at his inventory and has Spider Climb spell. He gives the spell to Hadden, who casts it on Rowan. Thoril gives Rowan his 50ft of rope in case her rope isn’t long enough. Rowan, while an experienced climber, is not used to climbing this way and lays down, army crawling her way up towards the hole. Legit she becomes Spiderman. YOU WILL NEED TO ADD NOTES FOR WHATEVER THE REST OF THEM WERE DOING WHILE ROWAN CLIMBS. I HAVE NO NOTES ON WHAT THEY DID. The only note I have is how the Tiefling says to the Orc how this is the craziest shit he’s ever seen. As Rowan gets close to the hole, a skeleton grabs onto her foot. She draws her rapier and slashes the skeletons arm off. We roll initiative. Skeletons attack down below where the rest of PCP is. Rowan doesn’t see the skeleton above her and takes damage. She used disengage and all of her movement to make it to the top, hoping to see Cassie, but she is nowhere in sight. Rowan lights a lantern to see if there is anywhere to tie off a rope for the adventurers below. She finds a spot where she can hammer in a piton, tie the rope off, and throws it down the hole for her friends. They send up Hadden first as he is the lightest to test the rope. Rowan is waiting at the top and when she sees Hadden, she grabs his arm and pulls him up. Dameila come up next, followed by Thoril. As Thoril gets to the top there’s something tugging on the rope. Thoril says he doesn’t think it is any of the 3 individuals we met before, telling us that he went to look for the other 2 who ran off during the battle. (--- again, no notes on this---) Thoril pulls the rope up towards us, despite Hadden’s protest. Rowan draws her short bow and stands to the side of the Thoril and is ready to shoot at whatever is on the end of that rope.
As the end of the rope gets to the top, we see a skeleton hanging on, as Hadden, Dameila, and Rowan attack & kills the skeleton. Dameila and Hadden goes to investigates upstairs & find Cassie. (that’s all I have on that) We decide to go back to the Watchtower to rest & heal. Rowan, knowing we are leaving the Orc & co, writes and ties a note to the end of the rope and drops it back down the hole. Thoril checks out Cassie, Rowan notices this and throws a lighthearted jab at him about Selina. As PCP follows Cassie back to the Elven Watchtower. Upon making it, the party rests in the same room as before. Rowan adds more detail to her cartographers tools about the to/from Catacombs. (--add notes if the others did anything) In the morning, after our long rest, Cassie feeds us breakfast and fills our waterskins. She tells us PCP has proven themselves. Cassie & PCP grabs onto the vines and heads back to the Catacombs.
