Hyerosian flame-finches

Hyerosian flame-finches are a variety of medium-sized finches native to North Sethir. They have a red head and bib, with orange backs and a red-brown body. Their beaks are a deep crimson. They are a popular pet across west Tor'Saarn, but they lose much of their color if they are not fed the wild flame-grasses of their homeland. They are still bred in Tiorath, their ancestors being imported early in the first age. They are loved not only for their color, but for the sweet sounds of their short chirps. In Renic these sounds can be heard in gardens throughout the city, even in the High-lords palace gardens. They can live for almost a decade and are somewhat hardy, but due to high demand can be quite expensive.
