Kol'diri
Summary
The Kol'diri is a form of Influencer that dwells primarily in North-West Ravenna. Despite the challenges of living in the advanced, still industrialized kingdom of Weiran the entities boast large numbers, and despite being seldom seen when challenged by Paladins they are often quite powerful. Due to the disparity of strength and appearances it is believed by some they have a dwelling away from mainland Ravenna, likely an archipelago of some sort where they can perform rituals unhindered.Description
In their most primitive state the Kol'diri take the form of a tall, lanky creature with black skin and large, dull white eyes. Their legs are long yet are normally hunched, and even when upright their arms stretch past their knees. They have six fingers ending in long talons. The head of the Kol'diri appears to be a long, narrow canine skull with skin thinly stretched over it, breaking at the face to reveal bone where the lips and nose should be. Like other Influencers the whites of their eyes shrink and brighten slowly as their power grows, becoming slim glowing white irises as they reach the apex of their power. They begin to stand upright as their confidence grows, and many have been known to 'hover' when at their full power. Kol'diri primarily gain strength through attention (particularly in the form of fear) and harasses small groups of travelers on the isolated paths of Qianna. Kol'diri begin to speak as their intellect grows, making them even harder to ignore. Kol'diri are shadow manipulators, and can bend shadows to their will. This includes the ability to turn shadows into quasi-living entities, form shadow weapons or even turn dark spaces into impassible barriers. This focus on shadow, however, is not absolute. Kol'diri often choose to hybridize their shadow manipulation with other forms of magic, and it is common to see them use a form of pyromancy that has a rich white flame with deep black shadows they call darkflame.Notable Examples
The Kol'diri is one of the few influencer races to exist in Tor'Saarn myth, where it is known as the Qe'eb, and at times harasses travelers in Qianna.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
