Ship Hunter

Summary

Ship Hunters emerged in the late first age, being pioneered by the navy of The Tiorath Hierarchy. Ship Hunters are an even more niche take on the concept of the interceptor, and are better adjusted for taking down singular, heavier targets.

Utility

Ship Hunters were low set, fast and often had between one and three heavy front facing weapons. They were often equipped with some form of ram to break through the wreckage of enemy ships. A well designed Ship Hunter typically utilized a pair of weapons powerful enough to damage or outright destroy much heavier command vessels such as brigs or galleons while remaining light enough to pack into ships not much heavier than a schooner. Weapons designed for such a vessel were often expensive to produce and as such Ship Hunters were made in small numbers and deployed cautiously.

History

The Ship Hunter saw it's predecessors rise in Tiorath during the first age, before being further shrunk and refined in the early second age. This class is now relatively common (considering it's niche use and expense) along the west coasts by both Sethir and Tiorath.
