Splinter Class Ship Hunter
Summary
The Splinter class Ship Hunter was a prototype high-speed vessel designed to punch trough blockades and easily sink command ships. Only two were ever constructed, both of which were designed and constructed in secret within the shipyards of Weisiar, while the larger shipyards at the Henruut twin cities were occupied with the construction of the Ironstorm class Artillery platforms and the Silver Wings of Renic.Description
They were set low and were incredibly long, with rounded bulging sides that formed two internal tube-like chambers within the ship. Ahead of these structures the fore end was narrow, and armored with a tall battering head. The ship had tall sails, which ultimately brought the structure higher. Each tube was outfitted with a Stone-Render type cannon.Utility
The ship was paired with Tidal elementalists to further augment the ships speed, and it was capable of easily ramming through blockades. Once the ship found it's way through it would set it's sights on docks, water gates or capital ships, unleashing it's twin Stone-Render Cannons, which had been modified for a 5 round burst 'rapidfire' configuration. These guns were too low set for use against higher targets like most walled installations, but were extremely effective at destroying structural supports at water level.History
The only known instances of these vessels were made in the first age by the Tiorathan navy, however they inspired the Tide-Maker Class Ship Hunter and it's variants, and the Felsaed Ascendant class Brigantine heavy interceptors. The two vessels of this class, the grace of Weisiar and the Thennon's approach, were sunk in The Sundering of Tiorath when the fought against the Titan-Mind Maroki.Remove these ads.
