The Planar Rings and the cosmos
Alignment
The known cosmos consists of the world known by most as the Titan Realms and it's five Satellites; Talirim, the first Planar Ring, Kelred the innermost moon, Gandir the captured star, Kelron the outer (and larger) of the twin moons, and Dorim the Second Planar ring. Beyond this system exists a myriad of stars far beyond the reach for all but the greatest of Tor'Saarns gods.Talirim, The Innermost Planar Ring
Talirim circles the equator of the Titan Realms, and spins at a constant speed that achieves one full rotation every 24th hour. However Talirim's orbit isn't perfect, and for half the year one of the poles is drawn inward slowly pushing the other closer to the sun, and for the other half of the year it's pushed back as the other pole is drawn in. This causes the world to experience it's four seasons and for each pole to experience a separate season. While the west is experiencing summer, the east is experiencing winter. The sun cast's light on the roughly 50% of the outer ring (albeit at varying intensities) at any one time, and from the ring's perspective rises in the east and sets in the west. The ring boasts a magnetic field that is aligned to the east and west poles of the world, and as such compasses point east and west. The ring bends inward towards it's edges and bulges towards the center, causing the northern and southern edges of the rings to experience lower temperatures than the equator. Beginning just shy of the western pole in the Tiorath isles is Talirim's super continent, Tor'Saarn, the Realms of the Gods. Tor'Saarn is home to most of Talirim's inhabitants, with the rest living in Ravenna.Kelred, Talirim's moon
Kelred orbits Talrim's outer edge west to east and takes 36 hours to complete a full revolution.Gandir, The Captured Star
Gandir is the shared sun of both Planar rings, and is held in place by three smaller rings forged by the gods. It was captured by Sar'aan and Gessar to bring light to the gods new realms early in the construction of the Rings.Kelron, Dorim's Moon
Kelron is larger than Kelred and orbits Dorim, taking 72 hours for a full orbit.Dorim, The Outer Planar Ring
Dorim is the outer ring, and it's inner side boasts the heavens, home of the gods. It is unlike Talirim in many ways. It is aligned with the north and south poles of the Titan Realms and experiences a stable orbit, giving it only one season. Dorim takes 48 hours to complete a full revolution, and like Talirim roughly half of the world experiences daylight at any one time. The surface of Dorim is an immense ocean, with islands of various sizes forming the homes of the many gods in Sar'aan's Pantheon. The largest Island is inhabited by Sar'aan, and shares it's noon with Tiorath, and is aligned with the island nation every second day.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
