Gastelen (Stranded Easts)Summary
The Walukas are a large family of parrots that typically bear some form of noticeable crest found in a wide variety of habitats stretching from far west Seofare to the stranded easts, typically along or near the worlds climatorial equator. There are 23 known species of Waluka, the majority of which are native to the Wilderuns. All species of Waluka are regarded as intelligent, or at the very least clever, as well as being extremely social.Description
Despite coming in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes all Waluka species have a handful of common traits that help identify them. All Waluka have some form of crest, however some are more visible than others. These crests can be erected or lowered at will, and are often used to convey emotion or to enhance communication. These parrots have large, thick curved beaks that have a 'U' shaped section missing from their lower beak that gives them an extremely damaging bite. They have a pronounced, rounded forehead, that is most visible when their crest is lowered. Waluka are typically extremely intelligent and highly social birds that live amongst flocks of their own kind, that vary greatly in sizes. They become depressed quickly when left on their own, but luckily for them they are so adept at socializing that most species are capable of socializing with other Waluka species, other intelligent birds or even sentient creatures. They are commonly kept as pets due to their extravagant social behaviors, and in captivity can learn to mimic a few words. All Waluka, particularly a few of the larger varieties, are infamous for their destructive nature. These birds have a strong bite and constantly growing beaks, and in addition to their hyperactive behavior this causes them to wear their beaks back into shape by tearing apart all sorts of things, including frailer building materials that make up many settlements that exist in their territory.Uses and Relevance
