Chief Apu

Chief Apu is the leader of the kobolds living in the caves and aspires to found a kingdom for his people.

Description

Apu is a white-scaled kobold with an elaborate feathered crown. Also, while many of his people use crude weapons, the chief carries a sword and shield as symbols of his office.

Personality

Contrary to kobold stereotypes, Apu is a shrewd, sensible individual. He is very aware of his people's strengths and the dangers imposed by the larger factions. Although he seeks to legitimize his own rule, he does so because he believes it right to be respected by his allies, rather than seizing power like so many others in Gaes have done. Above all, he wants to ensure the safety of his people.

Relationships

He especially dislikes the Horned Society and the Poisoned Cup because they have enslaved some of his people.

History

During their first trek into the caves, Kapital nearly fought some of his solders, but Apu quickly diffused the situation. He offered the group aid if they would agree to make him a king with a kingdom. Unsure if their allies would honor the title, Kapital declined, but the chief welcomed them back if they changed their mind.
When Kapital, the gnoll hunters, and Maximus's soldiers allied to drive the Poisoned Cup and the Zealot's forces from the caves, Apu agreed to cause a distraction in exchange for more territory. When the plan succeeded, his people claimed many new caves and tunnels.
