Elserelai is a
gold wyrmling with a tiny lair and the meager beginnings of his hoard in the
Caves of Chaos. He is grateful to
Kapital for freeing him from
Solomon Blyth and always willing to converse about life's many mysteries.
Description
Barely a century old, Elserelai is small in stature but brimming with powerful magic that will only grow exponentially in the centuries to come.
Personality
Elserelai is naturally very curious. He easily reads into the hearts of others but has very little in the way of life experience. He enjoys writing down interesting words and inspiring phrases.
Possessions
His prized possession is a strange tome, filled with
Abyssal words written in
Celestial script. He noticed that the book
wants him to understand; the language becomes simpler whenever he gets confused. However, he also noticed that his room becomes colder whenever he begins to make sense of the writing.
Relationships
His mother advised him not to leave her lair for his first millenium, but his curiosity got the better of him. Elserelai regrets how he might have made her feel, but he is determined to make his own way in the world.
Although intimidated by many of the Caves' other factions, he befriended a few
kobolds, who now call him "Golden One" or "the Scholar," much to his embarrassment.
History
Some time after leaving his mother's lair, Elserelai was charmed by Solomon Blyth and used in the
Low Elves' schemes. When Kapital fought their officers and their "chimera," the bard's spell was broken, and the wyrmling finally escaped.
Later, he invited members of the guild to his hoard, where he told them of the
Poisoned Cup transporting villagers and building materials into a nearby cavern. He was troubled by the group's decision to fight and kill the
yuan-ti in order to free the villagers. He anticipated that he would spend the next few centuries pondering the meanings of "good" and "evil."
