Issue 8: Darkness Falls!
General Summary
In what can only be summarized as an investigation gone wrong, agents of RAMI descended into the Steamvents last weekend in pursuit of knowledge in regards to a dropped power output from the facility.
While Azorius regulation and law require the Steamvents to be strictly off limits to civilian personnel, the office of RAMI (being a Chamber of the Guildpact organization) is allowed to investigate into any physical location of Ravnica so long as they have investigave cause. The 12% decrease in power output has caused a delay in some lightning rail trains, as well as power surges and outages throughout District 10. When asked regarding his own personal opinion of the investigation by on-site reporters, Niv-Mizzet refused to comment.
While the approved investigation took place, damage was sustained to crucial nodes in the Steamvents that regulated power output and overall pressure control, resulting in the loss of power across the entirety of District 10 for over 18 hours. Specifics are not available at this time, but all reports indicate the investigators sent by RAMI had some involvement with the power outage.
Niv-Mizzet has filed an official complaint with the Office of the Guildpact, requesting the Steamvents be removed from the possible locations privy to the Chamber's investigative eye, claiming "the Steamvents are too vital to city infastructure to be meddled with by those who cannot understand its importance." Along with this, Niv-Mizzet has decided to pursue legal action against the investigators, requesting the full extent of the law be used against them for their "reckless behavior".
When asked on their stance, the Azorius Supreme Judge Isperia only had this to say:
As of now, it is assumed the Azorius Senate will oversee the trial at New Prahv, where a trial date is still being set for the investigators. While the specifics are gathered for the trial, the Steamvents have been placed under specific guard of the Council of the Izmagnus, the best minds in the Izzet League, who intend on crafting security measures to deter further entry, within the rights of the Guildpact. Since then, power has been restored to the city thanks to the heroic and fervent effort of Niv-Mizzet himself, who claims to have spent the entire time of the outage in the Steamvents, repairing the damage done. We will continue to update you, the reader, with more information regarding the trial of the RAMI investigators now being coined "The Steam Vent Four" by locals. by Zara Zu'un
Ravnicans need order. If they do not have it, we will bring it to them.

Justice for the Steam Vent Four!
Skulkers, you all know I'm not a fan of mincing words, so let's get right down to it.
The four RAMI agents, dubbed "the Steam Vent Four" by one of my interns, are in hot water, something the rest of us had to do without, due to the recent citywide loss of power. Now, I know the statements made about their "investigation" have been damning. Truthfully, one wonders what they were doing in such a dangerous, yet important, part of the Ravnican infrastructure? If it was up to me, I'd have sent some mages, capable of a little hocus and a little pocus for reconnaissance work. Invisibility would've worked wonders for a mission like this, if their testimonies are to be believed.
The truth is, I don't think these agents did their jobs to the best of their ability, but here's the kicker. If things were heatin' up the way they say they were, how were they to call for help? The wise and infallible Izzet boss saw fit to construct lead-lined walls around the vents. If this is such a critical part of the city, shouldn't he have the foresight to think of way to contact him, if nobody else could be trusted enough?
Was this negligence? Perhaps. But these agents must've fought something, even if there were no bodies left behind. Why would they sabotage the Steam Vents and, consequently, the working of this city? News flash, bozo! They live here too! No, I think if they were negligent, esteemed and "respected" Niv-Mizzet was too. For someone who can supposedly see the future, he seemed awfully surprised by this turns of events. Maybe we shouldn't be handing him the keys to the city... maybe he should have less power, not more!
I await the trial of the Steam Vent Four with bated breath, and I hope that justice, compassion, and due process (this is more than a misdemeanor, after all) prevail in the end. Any of you Skulkers who feel similarly engaged with these proceedings can meet me on the front steps of New Prahv. Remember, question everything!
