Titles and Ranks of the Gruul Clans
Chieftain
Chieftains are the leaders of their respective Clan, and their guidance determines the actions and goals of the Clan they reign over. To become a chieftain, one must at least be a "Celebrated" clan member and challenge the Chieftain for his or her title via trial of combat. If fighting a chieftain isn't the desired task, the celebrated clan member can take the warriors loyal to them to start a new clan, though this has not been done in hundreds of years due to limited space in the outskirts of Ravnica, as creating a new clan would ultimately cause territory disputes and even further conflict.
Celebrated
A celebrated clan member is a hero of their Clan, and their reputation extends to other clans as well. Celebrated clan members can expect aid from their clan in most situations, and are granted a warband of 6-15 warriors, whose loyalty is earned on various clan missions. With these boons, however, chieftains often keep a closer eye on these individuals, as they have no become a challenger for the leadership of the clan.
Beast-Friend
A beast-friend clan member has developed a rapport with the beasts akin to the Gruul Clans. While in Gruul controlled territory, beast-friends can summon a mount. While these beasts will ease traveling burdens, they will not fight for the beast-friend unless the clan member can control animals in a different way. These are the first rank of clan member that are allowed to carry Gruul charms with them.
Proven
A proven clan member has several battles under thier belts and have deonstrated service to the clan and earned recognition from their peers. Provens are granted the ability to tattoo themselves to commemorate their triumphs in battle and demonstrate their loyalty to the Gruul Guild. While provens don't have authority over anyone, they can still count on warriors of their own clan to fight alongside them in acknowledgement of their battle prowess.
Trog
Trogs are clanless guild members who wander the lands controlled by the Gruul. Any variety of person can be considered a trog, an exiled member, a lone-wolf idealist, or even someone who found the civilization of a clan to be too suffocating for their own lifestyle. Despite not belonging to any Clan, Trogs are very dangerous fighters and have enough combat prowess to exist on their own in the Underdark and surface world of Tallamh on their own.
