Domain Description:
Many secrets can be found beneath Hilonde's sands. The inhospitable desert sits atop the second most active leyline on the continent, seeping the land in Source. This great desert is lined by grassy savanna, a dangerous coastline, and the recently "acquired" Emerald Forest of Meley. The harsh desert has hampered the wide spread of Hilonde's population, but in return it's riches have helped fuel strong vertical growth within the population centers. Outside of the capital, there is little more than small towns and villages that dot the edges of the sandy wastes. The Emerald Forest and vacant lands beyond offer new opportunities for the domain to grow. The access to the Sea of Amas and Blood could prove pivotal in future trade opportunities, so long as the dangers of the high seas are dealt with.
The Empire traces its roots to various nomadic tribes that used to wander across the Source infused wastes. Approximately a century and a half ago, a great mage united the various tribes under a single banner. Fueled by the strong Source energy beneath the sands, the mage was able to consolidate power and cement his empire as one of the dominant Source entities on the continent of Brone. Capital City: Known as "The Jewel of the Sands", the Sorcerous City of Irion is the proud legacy of the first Emperor of Hilonde. Red sandstone buildings form a haphazard sprawl that link together busy open air markets and stalls. Irion is considered one of the largest cities on the continent, as it's proximity to the coast has allowed for many people to come and go despite being surrounded by inhospitable desert. The city has a population of approximately 12,000, though many are not permanent residents. Most of the humans in the city are of Tretonian descent, and there is a large population of Dwarfs as well. Source based luxuries can be found here such as heated baths, primitive air conditioning, and cooking using heated stones carved in runes. If you have aspirations involving Source, Irion will likely be your destination at some point in your journey. Trade Goods: Source based "appliances" Source infused Sand Emerald Sap Salt Domestic Sand Hoppers Allies: Neutral: Enemies: Special conditions: The Dwarven population of the Empire demand Giriny be dealt with. The population as a whole fear the rumours that are coming out of The Grand Duchies of Asdiel, it would be wise to keep an eye on what is happening to the east.
