Humanoids

Humanoids are, loosely speaking, the vast majority of Talonn's sentient inhabitants. Even celestials and most devils are humanoids, albeit much more distantly related than many of the peoples of Talonn. In the age of Wings, the gods (most notably Melorae ) used their powers to create the first humanoids in their image, but the limitations of their abilities could not make mortals immortal, and the project was abandoned by most.
The first humanoids spread across the continent, and with the Feywild still existing in the same planar space as the Material, wild magic drastically accelerated their region-specific evolution. The first divergences were between proto-humans, proto-elves, and proto-bugbears (although the modern bugbear is much different than their predecessors, more so than humans or elves). There are a few groups who formed under special circumstances, most notably Mechanical s, Dragonborn , and any groups who are of partial extraplanar blood such as Tiefling s and Aasimar.
Generally speaking, humanoids are divided into four groups: Earthkin, Feytouched, Extraplanar, and Mechanicals. Earthkin are groups who were less effected by wild magic and carry little to no fey ancestry. Feytouched-- commonly referred to as elves as a umbrella term-- retain traces of fey blood that express as common traits like fangs, pointed ears, and slightly longer lifespans than many Earthkin. Extraplanars are, simply, any humanoid whose bloodline has been affected by an extraplanar being such as a celestial, devil, etc. Mechanicals, given their special nature, do not fit in any of these categories.
