Episode 10 Welcome to OUR Corner

General Summary

July 6th, our heroes find themselves staring down at the entrance to a cave they are entirely certain holds the kobold menace they have been tasked to dispatch.
Carefully making their way down into the basin, Quinlan Carrick is elected to slink into the underground dwelling first to scout out the potential threat. Not making it far before he spots visible defenses, he investigates long enough to learn that the party's arrival is expected and prepared for.
Unwilling to step into a trap, the party back up and begin searching the nearby mountain for another entrance, discovering it in the form of a slim crevice set into the rock. Though it's a tight fit, the party eventually decide to descend once more in hopes of surprising the kobolds from behind.
During their attempt to enter unnoticed, Svenjamin Suetekh of Clan Akubola accidently disturbs the silence and draws the attention of a nearby guard who manages to raise an alarm before he is quickly put to sleep.
Now hearing the rising noises of violent opponents rushing towards them, our heroes prepare themselves in an isolated corner of the cave and face off against the seemingly endless numbers.
Holding their ground through a variety of smart decisions and the occasional bit of luck, the true challenge shows itself as the large unidentified draconic hound storms into the cramped space.
Attempting to charge the group, the combined efforts of Tomas Netweaver and Brenun Drurunath hold the deadly monster at bay as the rest of the party continue to pluck away at the swarming numbers.
Facing off against the large beast in melee, there is a rising amount of fear as Brenun Drurunath appears to be losing his footing as the combat drags on. Thankfully, with a few directed shots from Quinlan Carrick using the bow that was lent to him, the draconic abomination is weakened enough for Brenun Drurunath to land a devastating and killing blow.
Following the death of their leader, the smaller creatures panic and retreat from The Ember Four, evacuating the tunnels entirely as victory is finally achieved.
With the party licking their wounds, they move carefully through the rest of the underground chambers before stumbling upon the hoard in the center of the cave. Sadly witnessing a large amount of it sacrificed to the acid, they take stock of what is left and load it up onto Tomas Netweaver's magic platform.
Marching their way back up to the surface, the party have successfully completed their contract and must bring back proof to the terrified people of Yevalune.
