Lind
The capital of Losan, Lind is a major hub for commerce. It's located on the coast, and the surrounding area is extremely flat allowing for a huge network of trains, roads, and airships to dock. Many businesses own warehouses in Lind, and ships coming from southern ports will often stop in Lind to refuel. Despite not being densely inhabited, it sprawls out and has absorbed many of the surrounding towns and villages. Nearly all the locals are multilingual, and the city center is a hive of constant activity. Lind is also one of the few cities that allows airships to dock within the city limits which greatly reduces overall transportation costs. Architecturally, it is a strange mishmash because Losan's more powerful neighbors regularly take control of the city and territory. Religion isn't terribly important in the city, and churches and temples coexist peacefully.
Many guilds have houses in the downtown area, and inns and taverns are everywhere. Most of the local businesses rely on foreigners for their profits, and it's not unusual to find people born in Lind flung across the continent because of work. Outside of the city center, each country has their own district, but the lines are fluid and unofficial. The city is ruled by an elected mayor and a city council. In order to preserve the peace, no businesses or foreign powers are allowed to have say in the city's government.
It was only within the past fifty years when Losan regained her independence that Lind really developed as a trade city. Before, she was a minor port city in Samoir. Ships sailing further into the fjord would stop at Lind, but only a few roads really connected the city with the rest of the world. Shellfish were plentiful in the area, but that industry evaporated nearly overnight when the city switched to be a place of international commerce.
