Royal Port Authority

The Royal Port Authority is a suburdinate organization to the Ministry of Transportation. They manage all the train stations, airship docks, and ship ports in Astoria. While they primarily track the movement of goods into and throughout the country, they also certify passenger transportation to ensure it meets safety standards laid out by the Ministry of Transportation. In conjuction with the Ministry of Commerce, the Royal Port Authority grants permits to foreign traders and collects tariffs.

Their main headquarters are in the Harrison Radcliff building in Serisport. In Wesshaven, their offices are at Quayside Hall. However, the Port Authority has a presence at all the border control points in all large towns and cities.

Structure

The Royal Port Authority is headed by a Director General who oversees several other directors who each head their own division. They are the Division of Human Resources and Administration, Division of Finance, Division of Operations, Division of Infrastructure, Division of Engineering Services, and Division of Legal Services.

Assets

Legally, the Royal Port Authority owns all ports, docks, and stations in Astoria. However, on a practical basis, most ports are either privately owned or managed by the municipality. The Royal Port Authority rarely steps in and even then only in cases of gross negligence. They do, however, own all their offices, and any office managed by the Port Authority is considered government property.
