Booberry, the Squirrel
Booberry is an azurlian squirrel native to the rainforests of Ventenheim. Their species has bright blue fur up their sides and tail as well as dark blue fur on the backs and a light carolina blue on their stomachs. They are known for their poisonous gland in their pancreas that make predators think twice before eating them. They can be found all through central Ventenheim.
Booberry started life as a wild squirrel known as Chr'ttingrrt'err. His family lived in a large tree north of the Rollicon Steppe and he lived with a large extended family gathering great stores of food. He remembers only flashes of this previous life. An attack by a large constrictor like snake that ate his grandfather. A large hoofed mammal that trampled his uncle who ventured to close to the grasslands. Playing with his sisters in the canopy of the forest going much higher than their mother had allowed.
After his first five years of life however he gave into his natural wanderlust and made his way into Kovolon City. Leaping from rootops, lanterns, and bright vendor canopies he discovered the amazing foods of the two legs. Fried doughs, cheese, salted meats, roasted nuts, and honey. He fell in love with civilization after that and even made friends with many of the two legs who would give him small treats during the day as long as he didn't get greedy. He spent many months creating a little space for himself in between two roof tiles on conjoined buildings.
A week ago however he got greedy. A wonderful aroma wafted from a box covered in a light muslin piece of fabric. His instinct told him not to enter but his time in the city had dulled this just enough to take the chance. His heart sank when the trap closed behind him. He spent the next week jostled and nauseous stuck in his trap as the trader who captured him rode lizard creatures to the City of the Great Salt Steppe. His journey finally ended when his cage was placed on a shelf in a brightly colored tent in the Crescent Moon Emporium. The next day a beautiful tabaxi woman bought him and his life changed forever. The next few hours were a whirlwind of visual information. An icy cold pixie, a two leg made of metal, a scaly short two leg, and a wide bearded two leg jumped on giant eagles and threw him in a bag. With the icy wind flowing around him the bearded two leg gently brought him back out into the fresh air and began to speak to him. After an hour the words and language of the two leg began to make sense, and for the first time Ch'rt could actually understand one of these creatures. From there it was an awakening of sorts as hundreds of questions began to form in his mind. All leading up to the big one... What does Ch'rt / Booberry do now?
