Leaves of Fate: The Ring

Many of the citizens in La Chiave a Croce played with Story Leaves as children. Few, however, know of the cards' origins as the The Leaves. This tarot deck with magical abilities is wielded by Leaf Readers. Drawing cards from the deck by hand or allowing the wind to make a selection are both valid methods of leaf reading. If drawn by the wind, the cards may rest in an assortment of patterns, depending on the questions asked and the will of the cards. The Major Arcana deck is known as the Leaves of Fate. The Minor Arcana have five sets: Leaves of Ash, Hope, Fertility, Sorrow, and Wisdom. Each Minor Arcana set represents a different season.   An influential card in the Major Arcana deck is The Ring, also known as the circle.

Symbolism

When facing upwards, The Ring indicates unity, agreement, compromise, reconciliation, and covenant.* When upside-down, The Ring can indicate discord, dissonance, betrayal, treason, duplicity and deception.
But be warned, an upside-down ring can also indicate possession or a corrupted covenant.

Solitary Drawings

In solitary card draws, the leaf's stem only matters if it's directly pointing at the subject or something immediately nearby. If it's the latter, the leaf will appear to pull against an invisible string. Right-side up, the stem indicates where unity may be lacking or shall exist in the future. An Upside-Down Ring can indicate disharmony within the self, the betrayal of a loved one, or the discovery of duplicity.

Multiple Card Draws

The orientation of The Ring describes how the other cards are related. If The Ring faces upwards, there is unity in the nearby cards. The stem may indicate compromise in the direction the stem is pointing; however, it all depends on the card placement. If facing down, there will be cacophony in the nearby cards.   *It is important to note that other readings are possible as each deck is customized by and tethered to it's wielder.
