Durin's Run
Durin's Run, this river is named for the infamous Durin Foljeim, the dwarven explorer whom used it to explore further inland in ancient times, the name still remembered, one of a few which survived the Sundering. None really know much of his journey now, but they know he made it at least as far as Foljeim Lake, or assume so given it is named after him as well. The story of his exploration has been lost to time, but it was known to be a hard one, and quite lethal, as archeological remains of various dwarves, and a small handful of surviving ancient pieces of gear, armament or weapon are enshrined in a museum within An Pointe Thoir. Durin's Run itself is fraught with perils, including many stretches of dangerous rapids, undercurrents, and whirls. The river lands are favorite hunting territory for yeti as well, though this is more true further west and south into the Glass-Spear Peaks. But the fast flowing currents offer a valuable resource, that for mills. Any town or city along the Durin has a mill be it for pulp, kelp or grains and the like. It is a river of trade as well, but that sees great benefit and employment rates for skilled navigators, and especially local huffers.
