Geography

CITIES AND TOWNS:

Twin Rivers (6113): The principal settlement in the region, Twin Rivers is most well known, and gets its name, for being at the juncture where the Thoir River is fed by its two largest tributaries. It is a busy port town, its dock district being its largest district and most busy, given that it wraps around the north side of the town, on technically three riverbanks. It is the seat of the Richmont family as well, and is a well fortified town, naturally, with a notable military presence. A small lumberyard employs a couple hundred people from Twin Rivers as well. Beyond this, despite being the seat of the regions Fiolag, and the home of his estate, the legal oversight on many aspects of life may not be as plentiful as one might expect. Twin Rivers is generally well known to smugglers in the region.

Barley Station (2706): This railway town gets its name for the fact that all the local farms in the areas around it ship their various seed and grain crops. Barley crops yield relatively well in the region though it is relative to the harsh climate and short growing season. Potatoes are another large bulk crop that is handled through here. The town itself is built around, and basically exists because of the railyards. Recently the town has had trouble with some particularly grisly crimes, however, of a sensitive nature. Four victims, all children, found brutalized, abused and horribly tortured, their mutilated bodies staked out on the rail lines around the rail yards. Locals are up in arms, but no one has seen anything. The kids generally go missing for a week or so before their bodies show up, and only but a day or two ago a fifth child was reported missing......

Vinefield (5046): A town well known for its vinyards and high quality wineries, distilleries and breweries. It is a town well known for its drinks, and there are an impressive number to say the least. It is also, however, a town well known for its linen and fabrics industry, especially dyed fabrics. It is an industry town, however, and besides a variety of alcohols, a few other things are produced here. Inks and paints of a moderate variety, along with dyes as well. All this is of course fed by the agricultural industry, utilizing the variety of available natural hues and colors from all the various berries and plants to make a moderate variety of colors and shades. There was a recent accident however, though that is the official story. A fire at one of the larger paint manufacturers. Officially an accident, there is a heavy investigation underway, and rumor around the drinking houses is that perhaps not all is as it seems. Some believe it was no accident at all, especially given the 'convenient' happenstance that there were nine workers and a foreman in the building, but there were no survivors...
