Daghatar the Adamant

“The family is a tree, and in times of need, every branch can be a weapon.”
—Daghatar the Adamant
The khan of the Abzan some 1,280 years ago. He relied on careful strategy to achieve his goals. He constantly analyzed his surroundings, which would make him come across as aloof. He rode atop a black ibex and was clad in elaborate mail crafted from dragon scales, wielding a mace hewn from amber. The head of this mace was alleged to house a malevolent spirit.

Social

Reign

Daghatar surrendered to Dromoka upon realizing that her dragonflight would not stop their assault on the Abzan so long as he and his people continued the necromantic practice of ancestor speaking.   Wanting to ensure his people's survival, the khan ordered the immediate end of the practice and the uprooting of every kin tree. Thus cementing the formal surrender.

Religious Views

As was the custom for Abzan, Daghatar practiced the tradition of ancestor worship known as spirit speaking.   In dire times, when sage counsel was needed, the Abzan khan would seek the advice of the sacred relic, the Remembrance. A massive chunk of worked amber resin that was said to house the minds of the very first Abzan.   The reverence for their ancestors and practice of honoring them through the cultivation of kin trees was core to Abzan identity.
