The Kingdom of Eros

This kingdom is ruled by a council of 5 noble houses, with a king chosen every 10 years from among the populace via a tournament known as the “The King’s Trial”. The king and council have distinctive powers, though the majority lies with the council. Each major houses played an instrumental role in securing the independence of Eros from the Empire of Cathor. While their positions are relatively secure, the king does have the power promote and demote the status of a noble from major to minor and vice versa; though this power has never been used to date.
The 5 major noble houses are Silverwood, Brightmyre, Redwyck, Loringer, and Colwyn.

Structure

Ruled by a king and a council of the major noble houses. Each noble house rules a state within Eros, with their home city acting as the capital.
